Description
Dolphin Swimming – Akaroa – 1 Child – (5 -15 years) This gift enables a child to experience the ultimate marine adventure, a close encounter with the dolphins. They will have opportunities for great photographs and interaction with Hectors dolphins – the smallest and rarest of the worlds dolphins. Instruction on how to approach the dolphins, their expected behaviour and general information about them, will be given on the way out to find them in a high speed catamaran with an enclosed cabin. All necessary gear is supplied, wet suits, masks, snorkels, flippers and hats and gloves if needed. The trip is 1 ½ to 2 hours depending on where in the harbour they are. The Canterbury Cat 2 has been specifically designed for dolphin swimming with rails at the back folding down to become ladders and extra safe jet units. All swimmers must be confident swimming in open sea conditions and be able to swim a minimum of 50 metres unaided. Life Jackets are not provided or permitted as the above is required to participate. Children between the ages of 8-12 years must be accompanied by an adult in the water and both must be a confident swimmers. After the swim, step into the heated cabin, enjoy a complimentary hot chocolate and a hot shower is provided when we arrive back at the main wharf.
