Description
Remutaka E-Bike Hire – Kaitoke – 1 person – plus 2pm shuttle from Cross Creek Located North of Wellington just past Upper Hutt – Experience the entire Remutaka Rail Trail from Kaitoke to Cross Creek, then jump in our shuttle back to the start. Start anytime between 10am and 12pm, then bike through to Cross Creek for the 2pm pickup (arrives back at Kaitoke approx 2.45pm). Simply make your way to our base at the Kaitoke carpark (it's about a 45 minute drive from Wellington). We'll set you up with capable and comfortable electric mountain bikes, then give you a quick briefing on what to expect for the day. You'll start your adventure with a very gradual incline through beautiful native bush. Pass through tunnels (headlights provided!) and over bridges, while checking out information boards detailing the enormous task of constructing the old fell railway system. Reach the summit – a large grassy plateau perfect for a picnic or cold drink – then enjoy a fun (but easily controllable!) descent to Cross Creek in the Wairarapa, from where we'll pick you up in the shuttle at 2pm and take you back to Kaitoke. We buy our bikes specifically for local trail conditions, and only use modern electric mountain bikes, complete with comfy gel seats, front suspension, and quality components. All bikes are then customised to rider height and preferences. In short, our equipment won't let you down.
